3.5* This was a fun, easy read. I love all things spooky and paranormal and this was right up my alley. Paloma is a young psychic who bites off more than she can handle when she and her family move across country and she decides that she'll impress her new friends with her abilities. While I had a few issues with her mother, and little sister, I really like how everything worked out in the end- a few surprises were to be had.

Paloma and her extended, multigenerational family are so heartwarming. Despite differences and disagreements, when they truly need each other, their support and loyalty is unquestionable. I enjoyed the Spanish vocabulary throughout the book (the context always makes non-Spanish speakers decipher the meanings easily) as it made this family even more authentic as they embraced their heritage and culture. It took me a few chapters before I really started caring and empathizing with Paloma; I found

First off bookishfirst, thank you so much for a copy of this ARC! Paloma is a adorable adventurous main character with a lot of determination, problem solving skills, and great morals surrounding honesty and truth that she sometimes buts heads over with her Abuela and friends. She is VERY much confident in herself and her beliefs, and I know that I wish I had this book when I was a little girl. On top of this, I LOVE the representation. I'm glad terms like abuela are becoming more accessible to
