Wayne's new job was boring. After being layed off during the pandemic he'd finally found a position working as a service writer at a rural gas station and car repair shop. Much of the garage's business had fallen off after the new alternative highway was built, however some of the older, longtime customers ocassionally stopped by for things like brake jobs and oil changes, and perhaps a fill up.
One day, while he was staring out the window at the endless desert across the road, a red pickup pulled in and stopped next to one of the pumps. And then began the amazement.
