Though he began his working life with various odd jobs, his flair for writing soon ushered him into journalism. From this springboard, Wallace launched a staggeringly productive literary career, penning numerous popular novels, including 'Those Folk of Bulboro,' a work that showcases his characteristic narrative momentum and penchant for vivid characterizations (Wallace, 1918).
