Gegenwartsliteratur reflektiert Fluchtbewegungen und -gründe. Sie dekonstruiert Stereotype des »Flüchtlings« und analogisiert historische mit zeitgenössischen Fluchtbewegungen. Die Beiträge nehmen autofiktionale Texte kürzlich geflüchteter SchriftstellerInnen ebenso in den Blick wie literarische Flüchtlingsdarstellungen etablierter AutorInnen, von Anna Seghers zu Peter Handke, von Saša Stanišic zu Abbas Khider. Sie fragen nach epistemischen, identitätsbezogenen, nationalmythischen und nicht zuletzt juristischen Erschütterungen, die die Flucht für aufnehmende Gesellschaften bedeuten kann, und nach der narrativen Konstruktion der Zuschreibung »Flüchtling«. Besonderes Augenmerk gilt Texten, die eingeübte Denkmuster und Stereotype infrage stellen. Zudem wird untersucht, wie Gegenwartsliteratur nach einer geeigneten Sprache und nach passenden Erzählmustern sucht, um den spezifischen Ausnahmezustand der Fluchterfahrung zu schildern. The essays focus both on autofictions by authors who recently fled to German speaking countries and on literary depictions of refugees by established authors; they analyze works by a range of writers, from Anna Seghers to Peter Handke, from Saša Stanišic to Abbas Khider. The contributions to the volume examine how refugee movements challenge traditional concepts of identity and nation but also call into question epistemic and legal conventions. While examining narrative constructions of the 'refugee', the articles focus especially on literary texts that criticize entrenched patterns of thought and stereotypes, often in a satirical manner. Contemporary literature searches for a language and narration by which to represent the particular states of exception which characterize the refugee experience.

Dr. Thomas Hardtke ist seit 2016 Studienrat am Hölderlin-Gymnasium in Nürtingen. Er hat an der Friedrich Schlegel-Graduiertenschule für literaturwissenschaftliche Studien an der Freien Universität Berlin promoviert.
