Roma’da uzun süre kalmadığı ve oraya ancak kısa süren bir iki yolculuk yaptığı kabul edilir. Sırasıyla İmparatorlar Trajan ve Hadrian tarafından konsüllük ve proküratörlük görevlerine atandı.
