A man investigates an ancient myth in the deep countryside. A myth that originates from reported hauntings that took place long ago, but these hauntings he does not believe happened and feels are nothing more than rumour and superstition. Although when he visits the location of this myth his eyes are opened to the reality of what is really happening.
This short story is also included in a collection of Ghost Stories. This collection, written by Chris J Mitchell, can be purchased from the Google Play store or the individual stories can be purchased separately.

Chris J Mitchell, was born and raised in London. Since he was young he has had a passion for writing and at school greatly enjoyed writing fictional stories of mystery, intrigue and action. In his childhood he met with a serious accident at the age of about eight and because of this he developed agoraphobia. He struggled with this for most of his teenage years but he eventually overcome this phobia. This experience affected his view on writing and how emotions, human behaviour and habits greatly affect and alter logical and rational situations.
He graduated from University in Manchester where he studied film and wrote his dissertation on Vaudevilles influence on early comedic movies and how great performers such as the Marx Brothers, Harold Lloyd or Laurel and Hardy brought their craft to the big screen. He has a keen interest in movies and literature and enjoys books and stories with intrigue, mystery and the unknown.
He specifically enjoys ghost stories and his fictional writing has been influenced by classic ghost stories from the Victorian era. He has written several ghost stories in classic Victorian style that have been well received.
