When Gregoryâs first son was born in 1912, the family moved to California and this is where Gregory began his career as a prolific writer. He penned many Western and detective stories authoring many short stories and more than 40 fiction novels, many of which were used as the basis of films including âThe Man from Painted Postâ. In 1943, Jackson Gregory sadly passed away while working on a new novel titled âThe Hermit of Thunder Kingâ.
