Over dit e-boek

This ebook edition includes an exclusive commentary on the Witches of Discworld, written by Jacqueline Simpson, co-author of The Folklore of Discworld.

A SHIVERING OF WORLDS

Deep in the Chalk, something is stirring. The owls and the foxes can sense it, and Tiffany Aching feels it in her boots. An old enemy is gathering strength.

This is a time of endings and beginnings, old friends and new, a blurring of edges and a shifting of power. Now Tiffany stands between the light and the dark, the good and the bad.

As the fairy horde prepares for invasion, Tiffany must summon all the witches to stand with her. To protect the land. Her land.

There will be a reckoning . . .

As it stands, Terry Pratchett has long been one of my favourite authors. His works full of wit, wisdom, a keen insight into humanity and its foibles, possessed of many great layers of complexity. Sadly enough, the terrible disease that hastened his end also tainted many of his later novels with characters acting out of character and the works no longer reaching the pinnacles of awesome which prior ones had attained. Yet... Yet The Shepherd's Crown is without doubt a work of love. One that though unfinished and rough in patches still manages to rekindle some of that sheer awesomeness that the books of old have held. I shan't reveal what happens inside the book, nor expound on the flaws it holds. But as a discerning reader and Discworld fan I can say that this parting gift of Terry is indeed worth picking up.
