About this eBook

This ebook edition includes an exclusive commentary on the Witches of Discworld, written by Jacqueline Simpson, co-author of The Folklore of Discworld.

A SHIVERING OF WORLDS

Deep in the Chalk, something is stirring. The owls and the foxes can sense it, and Tiffany Aching feels it in her boots. An old enemy is gathering strength.

This is a time of endings and beginnings, old friends and new, a blurring of edges and a shifting of power. Now Tiffany stands between the light and the dark, the good and the bad.

As the fairy horde prepares for invasion, Tiffany must summon all the witches to stand with her. To protect the land. Her land.

There will be a reckoning . . .

I find it hard to believe this is it...no more Discworld novels from this amazing man. This is one of his finest works; the opening chapters brought a tear to my eye. I had the pleasure of meeting him once; he was sat in the row in front of me and my wife at a production of Lords and Ladies in Shirehampton in Bristol. In fact had it not been for an epic all night conversation about his literature at University my wife and I may never had got together. Now if only old boney would let us have home back...

It's Terry Pratchett - Of course it gets 5☆s - Was there Ever a Discworld that didn't ! People will say, "Don't Read It With Sentimental Eyes, See The Bits That Don't Quite Gel Together !" My Response: "FLOG OFF ! Until You Can Find Me Another Terry Pratchett - And Don't Come Back With Neil Gaiman ! I'M Already A Fan ! & I Really Doubt That Their Collaborative Works Were Terry "Interviewing" Neil For The Job Of "Best Writer Of Phantasmagorical, Joyous, Out Of THIS World, Madcappery Which Can Also Have A Large Barb To Hook OUR World's Politicians & Public Figures, Right Out Of The River Of Smelly, Brown S~tuff They Keep Trying To Get Us To Swallow - Politically, Financially, War-likely! & What Passes Today As Entertainingly! While Dregs Are Lauded, The Billionaires Who Have Decided To USE THEIR Money For The Betterment Of Our Dying World & By Extension ALL Of US ! These Are The People To Be Derided, Scorned & Called Idiots & Fools, By A Flabby, Old Orange, quite Well Off Buffoon !!"

The very Last Discworld book. I cried. For the loss of Terry Pratchett (again), and at the death of my favourite Witch. Read from start to finish in one day (Off work) because I couldn't put it down - I just had to know what came next!
