About this eBook

This ebook edition includes an exclusive commentary on the Witches of Discworld, written by Jacqueline Simpson, co-author of The Folklore of Discworld.

A SHIVERING OF WORLDS

Deep in the Chalk, something is stirring. The owls and the foxes can sense it, and Tiffany Aching feels it in her boots. An old enemy is gathering strength.

This is a time of endings and beginnings, old friends and new, a blurring of edges and a shifting of power. Now Tiffany stands between the light and the dark, the good and the bad.

As the fairy horde prepares for invasion, Tiffany must summon all the witches to stand with her. To protect the land. Her land.

There will be a reckoning . . .

I've enjoyed all the Discworld books but there was such a touch of poignancy about this one after Terry Pratchett's death. Tiffany Aching is such an appealing character and has always felt like someone I would like to have as a friend. It's not the most complex book but like its heros it has a good heart and a story worth reading.

The story and its telling are somewhat 'flat' & lack that something that draws you in & makes you part of it that were so very much part of the earlier Discworld books. Nonetheless it bring an era to its conclusion and, as with all his novels, gives you hope for the future. I hope that it is whatever you want it to be on the other side, Terry & thanks for the other world that I escape too each night in your books.
