Born on May 26, 1696, Count Saint Germain was the son of Ferencz II Rakoczi, the last monarch of Transylvania, and Princess Charlotte Amadea of Hesse Rheinfels. After the birth, the midwife faced a critical moment: the newborn was not breathing. Despite her efforts and knowledge, she was unable to revive him. The parents, filled with sorrow, resigned themselves to the loss of their longed-for child and placed him in his royal cradle. However, when the princess approached to see her baby, she noticed he began to breathe softly.
