A plague has ravaged the population of gold dwarves of the Great Rift. It starts slowly, but the progression is devastating. One dwarf has eyes that have become hard and glassy like marbles; a second dwarf has skin that flakes off in sharp, hardened scales; the skeleton of a third is petrified and fused in place; a fourth wastes away with blood that has turned dark and muddy.

Acerca del autor
Lisa Smedman is the author of the New York Times bestselling fourth novel in the War of the Spider Queen series, entitled Extinction, as well as a novel in the Lady Penitent series and five Shadowrun novels. She was one of seven authors selected by TSR/WOTC to write a short story and novel for The Halls of Stormweather, an anthology set in the Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Forgotten Realms universe. She has also had a number of short science fiction and fantasy stories published in various magazines and anthologies. She lives in British Columbia, Canada.
