Om denne e-boken

A new translation into modern American English directly from the original Russian manuscript. This edition contains an Afterword by the translator, a timeline of Tolstoy's life and works, and a glossary of philosophic terminology used throughout Tolstoy's literature and philosophy. Leo Tolstoy's "Death of Ivan Ilyich" is a profound and introspective novella that explores the existential crisis of its title character, Ivan Ilyich, in the face of mortality. His unflinching portrayal of the physical and spiritual path of the hero to death poses moving questions about the meaning of life, the pursuit of happiness, and the inescapability of death. Tolstoy exposes the human struggle to find meaning and authenticity in life through vivid characterization and compelling narrative. "Death of Ivan Ilyich" has had a lasting historical impact, contributing to philosophical and literary discussions about death and the human experience. It remains a timeless classic that continues to captivate readers with its profound insights into the human psyche and contemplation of life's most profound questions.
