Peadar O'Guilin was inspired to write The Grey Land books by the mystical beauty of northwest Ireland where he spent his early childhood. For many years, Peadar developed both a fascination and deep love for mythology and Irish legends. The Sidhe from The Grey Land books are the original people of the mounds' whom the Irish believed in for centuries.
