Cometan (born 1998) is a British philosopher, writer, human rights scholar and academic best known for founding the Astronist religion and philosophy from the age of fifteen, for developing its doctrines by writing treatises, and for disseminating its beliefs and practices via the organisation he established called the Astronist Institution which regards itself as the founding denomination of Astronism. Cometan is also known in field of religious freedom for his work on religious recognition and registration issues which he is studying for his PhD (to be published 2023). Furthermore, Cometan is known for leading the campaign to have his Traditionalist Catholic grandparents Irene Mary Taylor and Derrick Taylor set on the road to canonisation in the Catholic Church for their dedication to their faith they demonstrated during their lives and especially for the interior locutions experienced by his grandfather Derrick in 1971 and 1978 respectively which has since earned his grandfather the title of locutionist.
