This is book 5 in the Northern Border Patrol series, however I feel it is a stand alone book. I have not read any other books in this series and had no trouble keeping up with what was going on. I would now like to go back and read them all though if they are all as good as this one. I am sure there is background on many of the sub characters in this book, in the previous ones. This book is full of mystery, suspense, drama, romance, gun fights, car chases and much much more. It is well written, with great descriptions and dialogue. The characters are well developed and real to life. Audrey Martin is out to prove herself, when a handsome 'John Doe' washes up on the shores of her quiet town, he brings much mystery snd challenges with him. Audrey has a rocky past with men and is not sure she is ready to trust another yet this man is sneaking past all her defenses. Nathanial, aka 'John Doe', has no memory of his past. It seams like he is constantly fighting for his life. When the beautiful and determined Audrey is always protecting him, will he ever regain his memory before his past catches up with him and possibly puts an end to his life, as well as the life of the beautiful deputies. The sparks fly in this novel. If you like police/special forces type mystery, suspense novels you will love this one.
