I always end up hungry after reading Terra Kelly's stories. They sound so good and the characters fall in love over food. Jackson and Anika have a rough start but from the beginning you can feel their connection and attraction. I loved seeing them both open up to each other.

Jackson and Anika's story is touching and will have you cheering them on to a happily ever after. When Anika first met Jackson her first thought was player because of the lines he used. As she got to know him she saw a different side. Not wanting to have Anika pull away from him, he is reluctant to tell her about his past or his family. When he comes clean will he lose the woman who is becoming to mean so much to him? I loved the writing behind this story and how it unfolds. This is the first book I have read by this author and it won't be the last. Guard My Heart was well written, had strong character development and a plot line that flowed effortlessly. This story is about baker Anika and firefighter Jackson. Though Jackson shows interest in her, she wants nothing to do with him due to his rumored reputation as a player. I mean the man's nickname is “Playboy” so that says it all to Anika. Should she trust the small town gossip? Jackson wants to be as far from his past as he can be so he let's the rumors about being a player goes unchallenged. It's not until he meets Anika and she rejects him, that he remembers that nickname and starts to regret letting it go unchecked. How can he convince Anika that is he is not the person that the rumors portrayed? Will Jackson and Anika get their HEA, read Guard My Heart and find out. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

About the author

Terra loves snuggling with her cat and relaxing with her amazing hubby. A steamy romance book is never far from her grasp, and 2:00 a.m. seems to be the sweet spot to finally put a book down and sleep. She laughs loudly, smiles often, is a bit of a klutz, and tries to always find the positive in everything.

She first started writing contemporary romance in the beginning of her writing career. Then her darker side begged to have a voice. Now Terra and T.M. work as a team bringing you a little bit of everything.

Terra Kelly writes small-town romance stories that will make you laugh, cry, and crave sweets.

T.M. Kelly sticks to the grittier side of romance with strong female heroines.

Each book will share inspiration for recipes. Some of the recipes are shared in the back of the books. If you can’t find a recipe it could be on their food blog, Café Terra.

Terra Kelly and T.M. Kelly are connected on social. It’s more fun working as a team.
