Tall, Dark and Immortal

Devon has created a unique vampire novel with lots of kicks. This well laid out novel had me intrigued and loving it. It’s at times comical and suspenseful. It was a fast paced, quick read that definitely had me hooked. I thoroughly enjoyed the mix of detective and journalist, vampire & mortal. The contrasts & contradictions were fantastic. The characters in this novel were the type that catch your attention. Their lives were intriguing, and their histories had me wanting to get to know them better. Seeing this world open before the characters was quite intriguing. Learning about them as they were learning about each other made for a heady mix. This was a very intriguing story. Alex Sanchez is sure that Keira is no mere mortal and if he’s going to work with her to solve the blood bank robberies he’ll have to fight the urge to kiss her…or kill her in this exciting paranormal romance. Keira is determined to uncover the truth even if pushing the detective on the case could be dangerous and the reader can’t help but get caught up in this combustible romance full of edgy tension and passion. The chemistry between Keira and Alex take them both by surprise and has fireworks exploding but since neither is sure if the other is the enemy or not, the relationship is balanced on a razor’s edge throughout keeping tensions high. Strong, captivating characters grab the reader’s attention from the very beginning while the fast paced, smooth flowing plot thrills readers with lots of suspense, excitement and romance. Expectation builds throughout the story as the investigation into the robberies of the blood banks becomes deadly and the danger escalates as others become aware of just who Keira is putting her life in danger from bad guys and good guys alike, which adds lots of adrenaline pumping excitement to the story with unexpected twists keeping the readers on their toes. The well written scenes and details capture the imagination, making it easy for the reader to picture each and every scene while the intriguing events ensure that there is never a dull moment. Cat Devon’s vampire world is fascinating with sexy characters and interestingly different elements that add spice and flair to her stories with some snarky dialogue that guarantees that the characters have some fun and entertaining encounters along with the thrilling and passionate encounters. Alex and Keira’s story starts off with excitement and continues throughout which means that there was no way I could put the story down once I started reading it and I can’t wait to find out what happens next in the thrilling Entity world.
