Shmel Carter is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, where she currently resides. Ms. Carter has been struggling with diabetes since the age of 18. A graduate of North Shaw University in Raleigh, she is the mother of three kids whom she loves dearly. She has been exploring her passion for writing since she was twelve.
