After OUABH this really fell flat for me. I loved Caraval and OUABH is my favorite series. I was so excited to love this book, but unfortunately it hit the same way the first Caraval book did. it was OK but not amazing. it felt very juvenile and rushed. I've read novellas before that even though they were only 80 pages or 100 pages they didn't feel rushed. this one did. there were very few moments that actually made me feel anything at all. I found myself rolling my eyes. I hate to leave a review like this honestly because I was sooo looking forward to this book and Stephanie Garber is one of my favorite authors. i personally just did not love this book. I wouldn't recommend it or ever re-read it. ill keep it at 3 stars simply because I love the author and her other work and because my opinion just that, my opinion.
