About this ebook

She’d been betrayed too many times to hand over her trust.

I’d lost too many people to love too easily.

Together, we were a mess. A constant struggle for peace. Yet it was in each other we found everything we were looking for.

Until tragedy struck and I feared the worst.

Pushing her away would have been the best. Kept us safe and unshaken.

But it was too late. My little fighter had determined what she wanted, and she was willing to go down swinging to finally earn her happily ever after.

It was her determination that kept us together, even through the worst of it.

If we finally made it to the other side, all the ugly things we’d survived could lead to something beautiful.

This story is narrated equally in dual POV chapters and that added to the depth and intensity. While in the first book I got to know and empathise with Lilly's ugly and traumatic life and her constant struggle to be better, this book focused a bit more on Hudson's pain. He has lost so many people he loved and it makes him cautious and weary. Lilly made him reach deep inside his heart and he felt all consuming love for first time. He is a gorgeous man with an incredible heart. He protected Lilly, cherished her, never judged her and gave her a safe space to dream and flourish. On the other hand, this story was Lilly's healing journey. She learnt how to deal with her past so that she can move ahead. She learnt to let go of her anger and bitterness and embrace and believe in everything kind happening to her. She supported Hudson through some dark days and I am proud of her. Their chemistry is palpable through the pages. They had to work through a lot of issues but I never doubted them.

At last Hunter and Lilly reach their happy ending after a rollercoaster journey! And what a journey it was. I cried with them, I laughed with them and felt every emotion. I enjoyed that the story was told from both main character's point of view. I loved all the other characters, especially David. If only we could all have a father like him! I would love to read more books like this.

After the explosive end of Part 1 of this duet, I really wanted to fast forward time so I could jump right into the conclusion. This book is the definition of angst and I loved every second of it. I cried so much at parts that I needed to take a break but as the book progressed, I found that hopeful, light feeling I was needing. I am definitely hoping to see some secondary characters get their own HEA!!
