These sets of slokas forms the advise of Sri Bhishma to the Pandavas. It lays out the 1008 names of Lord Sriman Narayana and describes his attributes. These sets of slokas are supposed to be from the end of the Mahabharatha war. The Padma Purana lays out these slokas in detail. Sri Vishnu Sahasaranama is recited daily by most hindus.
