Pendidikan bukanlah sekadar tentang mentransfer pengetahuan dari satu generasi ke generasi berikutnya; ia adalah cermin dari dinamika sosial, nilai-nilai masyarakat, dan struktur kekuasaan yang ada. Dalam upaya memahami peran dan signifikansi pendidikan dalam konteks sosial yang lebih luas, disiplin ilmu sosiologi pendidikan menjadi semakin penting. Sosiologi pendidikan memungkinkan kita untuk melihat pendidikan sebagai suatu fenomena sosial yang terjalin erat dengan masyarakat, budaya, dan sistem kelembagaan. Sebagai sub-bidang dari sosiologi, sosiologi pendidikan tidak hanya memeriksa institusi pendidikan itu sendiri, tetapi juga interaksi antara sistem pendidikan dengan berbagai faktor sosial. Dari pandangan klasik para pemikir seperti Émile Durkheim dan Max Weber, hingga teori-teori kontemporer yang menyoroti isu-isu seperti ketidak- setaraan akses pendidikan, multikulturalisme, dan dampak teknologi, sosiologi pendidikan terus berkembang seiring dengan dinamika masyarakat.

Buku ini bertujuan untuk menyelami kembali pentingnya sosiologi pendidikan dalam membentuk pemahaman kita tentang pendidikan modern. Kami akan menelusuri sejarah dan perkembangan sosiologi pendidikan, membahas hubungan antara pendidikan dan masyarakat, serta mengidentifikasi isu-isu kontemporer yang menjadi fokus perhatian dalam bidang ini. Dengan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang sosiologi pendidikan, kita dapat mengembangkan perspektif yang lebih luas dan solusi yang lebih efektif untuk meningkatkan sistem pendidikan agar lebih inklusif dan responsif terhadap kebutuhan masyarakat masa kini. Melalui buku ini, kami mengajak pembaca untuk menjelajahi peran penting sosiologi pendidikan dalam pembangunan pendidikan yang merata, adil, dan berorientasi pada kepentingan seluruh warga masyarakat. 

저자 정보

Jonni Mardizal, an assistant Professor of Building Engineering Education, Faculty of Engineering, Padang State University, completed Strata1 (S1) Education in Technical Education IKIP Padang, he received his first assignment as a Lecturer at the State Secondary Technology School (STM) in Bireun Aceh, but had not had time to Bireun transferred to Medan to become an Instructor at the Techinical Teacher Upgrading Center (TTUC) Medan, whose name is now BBPPMPV (Center for the Development of Vocational Education Quality Assurance) in the field of Medan Technology. Starting as Head of Youth Organization at the Deputy for Youth Empowerment, then promoted as Assistant Deputy for Youth Leadership, Assistant Deputy for Youth Organization, Assistant Deputy for Standardization Development, Acting Deputy for Youth Development, Expert Staff of the Minister for Creative Economy, Expert Staff of the Minister for Youth and Youth Innovation, besides that also served as Acting Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports until November 2022. Since the end of 2019, he has returned to take part as a lecturer at Padang State University in the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering. Currently teaching several courses in Strata 1 and Strata 2 programs. Completed Master  of Management Education from Jambi University and Doctor of Education Management from Jakarta State University. Has published several books, including; Empowering the Young Generation of Orang Rimba Youth, Building a youth creative economy, Youth entrepreneurship: problems, challenges, and development strategies, Irrigation and Water Building Management, Management and Leadership of Vocational School Principals and Youth Entrepreneurship Programs (A Policy Analysis), as well as several articles in national and international journals.

Teaches several courses, including; Water Quality Management, Principal's Management and Leadership, Irrigation and Water Building, Project Management and Plumbing and Sanitation Practices.
