Every time I buy a Macro/Cato novel I am excited to reenter the triumphs with characters who have become my friends, but also worried in case I do not enjoy it. But each time I am happily unsurprised at the genious of Simon Scarrow as he once again brings to life the turmoils and victories of two Roman officers whom Fortuna looks upon with such frequency.

Have been waiting for months for the next installment. Edge of your seat gripping action and adventure. Cant recommend Simon Scarrow enough.

Fantastic as always. The author really knows how to keep his audience hooked from the first line to the last . A great read and I can't wait for the next one.

About the author
Simon Scarrow is the acclaimed author of multiple Sunday Times bestsellers, including Revenge of Rome, The Honour of Rome and The Gladiator. He is also the author of many other acclaimed novels including Blackout and Dead of Night in the CI Schenke thriller series set in World War II Berlin, and a quartet of bestselling novels about Wellington and Napoleon. With T. J. Andrews he has co-written further novels set in the Roman Empire, including Warrior, focusing on the rebel chief Caratacus, and Arena, following the career of a gladiator hero.
