The narrator of this book is outstanding and absolutely perfect for this story. She gives depth to each of the characters which helps draw you in. This book is heartwarming, saddening and laugh out laugh funny in equal measures but they're all qualities required to make this book what it is. Excellent!!! I can't believe I listened to this book in 1 sitting, I just didn't want it to end. Forget the main characters I'm here for Val and Jessie's antics, they had me howling.
About the author
Shari lives in Glasgow and writes a weekly opinion column and Book Club page for a well known newspaper. She is married to a very laid-back guy and has two athletic teenage sons, who think she's fairly embarrassing, except when they need a lift.
