About this ebook

As the middle son, Trey Blackburn dedicates his days to the family business, working to ensure that they remain at the top of the saddelbred industry. His time away from the farm is another story. Not one to get tied up in a long-term relationship, he’s the love ‘em and leave ‘em sort of guy. But Trey’s hesitation to commit might be deeper than not wanting to put in the time and effort. His reluctance may have more to do with the blond beauty who just blew back into town and the things they left in the past that have been neither forgiven nor forgotten.

Holland Rhodes may not have been born into the Blackburn name, but she was once considered part of the family. Having a less-than-ideal home life, Holland spent as much time as she could with the Blackburns, the quintessential dynasty full of love and southern hospitality. Dubbed an honorary member, Holland thought their connection would last a lifetime, but one shocking revelation changed everything.

Having left Shelbyville for a fresh start, Holland has limited her time back in Kentucky for the past decade, avoiding both of her families—the one into which she was born and the one into which she was welcomed. But the death of her father and the uncertain future of the family business has brought Holland back to face her past, one Blackburn at a time.

With old feelings reignited and ready to move their relationship forward, everything crashes to a halt when tragedy strikes. Their painful history in danger of repeating itself, Trey and Holland may find that even true love can’t overcome the darkest days.

The Tryst: A Blackburn Novel is an enemies to lovers novel within the Bluegrass Empires series. All books in the series can be enjoyed as standalones.

Trey Blackburn is the middle son of the Blackburn family. Known for their saddlebred horses, the family owns a sprawling ranch in Shelbyville, Kentucky. Besides the 3 boys, there are twin girls. Trey works hard to make his family business successful. He's not a relationship sort of man. He has his reasons. The close knit group of kids befriended Holland Rhodes when they were growing up. Everything that their family was, her family wasn't. They were all so close until one day, Holland left, never to come back and never to contact them. None of them knew why. Holland returns to town after her dad died and her plan is to get his business settled for her mom and to leave, once and for all. There isn't anything left for her in Shelbyville. But when she runs into Trey Blackburn, she is forced to face her past. Sawyer Bennett is a remarkable author. I read the book and listened to the audio. The narration did not disappoint!

4.5 🌟 Oh boy! That was some story! I have been sitting here for a while still coming to terms with all the outcomes, the good and the sad. Maybe this wasn’t the book I should read when I’m dealing with a spring cold, or maybe it’s the perfect excuse to blame the cold for my runny nose and eyes! It definitely moved me with Trey and Holland’s love story but also everything else that happens at the Bluegrass Empire Farm. This is one NOT to miss.

The Tryst, get your tissues out, it is a doozy! Trey walked away from Holland years ago. Now that she is back in town after the death of her father, all the feelings are coming back to the surface along with the resentment on Holland's part. They agree to start their affair again while she is in town, but as they grow stronger, the secret is getting harder to hide. Will she stay or won't she? I loved this family of strong men and smart woman they brought forth powerful action packed emotions.
