I am concerned for the future of young females everywhere. When they are given such shallow, narcissistic and selfish female characters as Maas's Aelin.

How Does She (SJM) Do It? These Books Just Keep Getting Better & Better! Usually there's at least 1 book which isn't quite up to the same standard as the rest in a series, but I swear I love each book more & more. I think this one is my favourite by far for so many reasons. The characters feel like old friends I've had for years & years & with each book you not only have characters developing but their relationships deepening too. We're growing with Celaena / Aelin, Dorian, Chaol, Rowan, Lysandra, Rowan, Aedion, Nesryn, Manon, Abraxos & The Thirteen & as they develop & grow so does our love of these incredible complex characters. What I truly love about the way these characters are written is : They are real! Just like you & me, they have flaws, they make mistakes, sometimes pushing the line / boundary, they fight for love, freedom & honor, no matter the cost. They go so far as to save a rival or enemy.

One of the best reads of my long life. My daughter recommended it to me. All characters are clear and vivid, and the twists and turns were riveting. Thank you Sarah J Maas for the high spots and the tears.
