About this ebook

The vampire slayer is turning into a vampire? Over her dead body.

Dana McIntyre has been bitten by a master vampire. She's infected with the venom. And after killing hundreds of vampires to keep Las Vegas safe, she'd rather die than turn.

There might be a cure. But the only way to get it is through Nissa Royal, a vampire with close ties to the masters of Las Vegas. Nissa is dangerous -- too dangerous to be allowed to live, much less work alongside.

But if Dana dies, vampires win Vegas. If she doesn't die, she becomes one of the bloodless. The cure's her only chance. In this deadly game of hold 'em, Dana's drawing dead, and whatever happens next, there's no changing her losing hand. Dana only knows one thing: If she's going down, she's taking as many vampires as possible on her way out…

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I'm going to be honest. I wasn't enthused when I found out a book was being written with Dana as the lead. Although I'm familiar with her, I just didn't see her as protag material but of course SM Reine proved me wrong. Dana is basically female Arnold Schwarzenegger. She's a tank and a complete bada**. This series even FEELS different from the other series' by this author. This one feels like straight up action movie beauty. Not only is the cover of this book amazing, but I could have seen this on the big screen as well. Dana is turning into a vampire but she's trying to stop it. And if you know anything about Dana, you know she is not here for that vamp mess considering she's a vampire hunter. It's a short read but well worth your time. I'm actually looking forward to future installments. I give this book 4 stars because the ending was lackluster and Nissa is just the worst. I get it. I know how the opposites attract thing is supposed to but ... She's almost insufferable. Then again, I still think Riley is insufferable despite being the alpha. Overall, I really can't believe how well this turned out and I'm excited for the next one.

I have read all of the books in this massive universe and I find that each of the characters are really given the time and space to tell their story. Dana finally gets her time in the spotlight and, she is awesome in an unashamed, move the world to make progress kind of way. Based on her history and fighting vampires all her life when she is turned to one herself you can tell she has true friends when they band around her and cover her back no matter what she is trying to accomplish. This book doesn't get 5 stars from me however because of Nissa. I have found little to make me appreciate her as a character except for perhaps as an "opposite" to how amazing Dana is. Once I made it through the 20% where she was the character taking up most of the story it got so much better. This story is fast and furious as it picks up speed. the action and Dana's antics will absolutely keep you reading. I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a fair review

Always love a dystopian apocalypse! I'm usually more zombie survival, but vamps, shifters, and side are sweet too. I'm reading the rest of this series, check into it.
