About this ebook

Two weeks ago, I got my new cat, Trouble. Last week, he revealed he can talk.

True to his name, he's been nothing but trouble since I got him. He even got me fired from the bakery where I worked due to excessive cat hair on my clothes (which wasn’t even that bad, thank goodness for lint rollers, but I digress). At least I now have more time to work on my travel cat blog.

When Trouble and I go to the bakery to pick up my last paycheck, we find my ex-boss dead in the kitchen. And to make matters worse, the police—led by none other than my best friend’s cute older brother—catch me at the scene of the crime.

Now at the top of the suspect list, I'm determined to clear my name and stay out of, well, trouble. But trying to solve the case and prove my innocence means I keep running into a certain handsome policeman. It’s a distraction I don’t need (but want).

But if Trouble and I can't figure out who really killed my ex-boss, my next adventure won't be a coffee date with a cute cop. It will be a trip to the nearest jail cell.

About the author

Rosie Pease hails from small-town Rhode Island, where the nearest stoplight was two miles away and she knew to come home when her mom whistled or when the streetlights came on. She has also lived in Vermont, New York, and Ohio. She uses the places she’s been as inspiration for the settings of her cozy mysteries, pulling the theater from one, the cider mill from another, and the river from yet another to create fictitious towns that feel familiar.

She collects Funko Pops of the Doctor Who, DC TV, and Marvel variety, with a few others thrown in for fun. Her desk is a mess, but she can find everything on it, so it works for her as long as things aren't falling onto the keyboard when she writes.

When she’s not crafting cozy mysteries, she’s playing with her daughter, hanging out with her husband, or being amused by her two catnip-loving ginger tabbies.
