About this ebook

‘What sort of dinosaur had a bone like that?’ wondered Josh.…

Kat cajoles Josh into going with her to a remote settlers hut in a regional farming area to investigate a stash of what could be dinosaur bones collected over a lifetime by a recently deceased cattle drover. The bones were only discovered after his death, and Kat has been asked by a palaeontologist friend to check out the collection.

Camping in a remote area, they strike up an unusual friendship with a local stockman who, with his local knowledge, leads them to safety when they get caught up in an emergency and have to flee for their lives.

And is it only dinosaur bones they find?

About the author

Rose Siva has an obsession with dinosaurs that started when she was invited to work on dinosaur bones by David Elliot. He had found sauropod bones on his cattle station in far west Queensland. (He went on to form the Australian Age of Dinosaurs in Winton.) As Rose says, ‘who could resist an invitation like that?’

Rose has now had a 15 year involvement with dinosaurs and is a qualified Honorary Technician with AAOD. She says ‘too much dinosaur dust up my nose led me to imagine dinosaurs and start writing books based on REAL dinosaurs.

Rose has a background in education, with a focus on developing reading skills in children. Her insight during those years has provided valuable insight into what motivates children to read and, more importantly, enjoy reading. And what young child is not interested in dinosaurs?

Her books DINO BONE, DINOpal, DINOTHAW, Dinosaurs and Dragons & Dinosaurs Fight to survive are fiction chapter books designed specifically for 7 -12 year old readers. The short punchy chapters encourage the reader to read on, and they have heroes and heroines they can relate to.

Rose Siva currently lives on beautiful Tamborine Mountain in Australia, and can imagine the dinosaurs roaming through the rainforest around her. She intends to write more books in the future. Check her out at rosesiva.com and watch this space!
