T S Nandakumar, an Indian Carnatic Music Percussionist, excels primarily in playing the mridangam while also mastering various other Indian percussion instruments. He serves as the director of TSN's Percussive Arts Centre Inc. school in New Jersey, having previously been a professor at Shanmukhananda Fine Arts in Bombay, India, and the Academy of Indian Music in New Jersey. His main focus has been teaching the classical Carnatic percussion instrument Mridangam, alongside serving as a visiting faculty in renowned institutions. With a lifelong passion for music, Nandakumar has accompanied numerous prominent figures in Carnatic music and performs globally. He is committed to preserving Indian ancient art forms and dedicates himself to teaching them to students worldwide, residing in New Jersey where he continues to nurture future musicians in the Carnatic percussive arts style.
