Like any dog, Scrappy is inquisitive and excited about the new experiences in his life. He explores new territory and tries to move as far away from his home of neglect as fast as possible.

Though he feels scared and confused, Scrappy has no other option but to go forward. He meets new people, some are cruel to him and others love him like nobody has ever loved him.

This Scrappy storybook for children shows us how life can change quickly and unexpectedly. It teaches children that life can be sad and happy at different points, but that there is always light at the end of the tunnel. It also touches on issues like bullying and peer-pressure.

Scrappy The Dog by Ronald Destra for me is a five-star read Gorgeous artwork and a good storyline though I did find it a little heavy and it made me cry a lot. It does, however, have a happy ending which I love. I immediately fell in love with Scrappy and wanted to save him. In my eyes it show's the importance of love to all living beings. Loved the storyline and the characters and would highly recommend this book to everyone I know

Must-have Books

“Scrappy the Dog,” would be the perfect choice for a young reader. It is easy to read, follow, and comprehend. Plus, the pictures are beautifully illustrated! Kids, will be drawn to this adorable dog, and enjoy reading his story. His story is filled with many life lessons, and as a parent I really appreciate it. This book not only makes for an entertaining read, but it’s also engaging. The many important topics within it can be discussed between parent and child, turning reading time into so much more! My step-daughter had fun reading this and I’m pretty sure we will be reading it together again sooner than later!

Love this cute little book. My daughter and I read it at least once a week, we have a LOT of books to cycle through and this one has quickly become a favorite!!!
