I absolutely loved this book! Palmer's writing is hysterical and her knowledge of the old movies from the 80's (The Breakfast Club, my personal favorite), gives this story a lot of heart. A mixture of the snobby Prom Queens and your typical high school Geeks, this story is like stepping into a John Hughes film. Dylan's diva-like, dramatic, funny attitude is something you'd find in The Clique series, about how the fashion-obsessed mean girls clash to become the most popular princesses, or even in Pretty Little Liars (which I just started watching, it's awesome!) Josh, on the other hand, offered me so many movie titles I didn't even know about (such as The African Queen and Annie Hall), and the way how he's portrayed makes you feel like you just stepped into the movie Weird Science (another one of my favorite John Hughes movies), where the teen Geeks who desperately want to become popular step into a world where no person has dared to go before, except in this book, Josh and his buddies didn't create a girl with their computer to increase their seemingly pathetic social standards, they made a movie about how Prom Queens and Film Geeks may be different, but are kind of the same. The mentioning of Neil Diamond songs was also impressive (Sweet Caroline is my favorite Neil song; I never knew that before!) I was laughing especially at Dylan's diva-like personality, the way how she was so obsessed over popularity, I started thinking "Popularity really IS over-rated!" LOL! I'm gonna start watching the movie as well, because it includes Pretty Little Liars actress Sasha Peiterse, The Troop's David Del Rio (where he himself plays a geek, too, ironic, isn't it?), and Matt Prokop, who guest-starred once on my favorite show Good Luck Charlie where he played a geek as well! Robin has GOTTA make a sequel for this thing! Just like The Clique book, I ah-dored it!
