About this ebook
The work is devoted to the study of some geometric invariants which can be associated to a partial differential operator. Recently L. Hörmander introduced the notion of a subprincipal symbol for a pseudodifferential operator. The subprincipal symbol is an invariant for every pseudodifferential operator which maps sections of the 1/2 -density bundle [capital Greek]Omega 1/2([italic]X) to sections of the same bundle. The author proves that the sub-subprincipal symbol cannot exist for all pseudodifferential operators on [capital Greek]Omega 1/2([italic]X).
