At the age of thirteen the husky Travis Singer strikes out to make a living. Life on the cattle ranch seems to be his calling. James Whaley is a retired educator living in Chanute, Kansas. James has written several stories and a few historical books. He and his wife Elinor have two grown daughters and two grandchildren. A life long admirer of creativity, he started writing in a serious form after 34 years in the public classroom.
