Naughty or Nice is author Rachael’s Stewart’s latest book out on the Harlequin/Mills & Boon’s DARE line. I am a huge fan of Ms. Stewart’s writing, so when she says she’s got a new book coming out I immediately pencil it in my calendar and cancel everything. This was such a fabulous read and one I didn’t want to put down. I actually didn’t, I finished it in one night! ;-) Lucas Waring grew up around his best friend Nate Beaumont’s family. When his mother died the Beaumont’s became his guardians. They are the only family he had growing up, until a business deal comes between him and Nate. Evangeline “Eva” Beaumont is Nate’s little sister. Growing up with Lucas, she finally decides to confess to him that she loves him on her 18th birthday. Torn between his feelings for Evangeline and the consequences of loving her, he chooses to walk away from her. Wow! I mentioned earlier I couldn’t put this one down, and it’s true! I love when characters have a past connection. When we first meet these two, Lucas is just twenty-one and Eva is 18. It’s obvious there is an intense attraction between them and although they say they love each other, Lucas walks away. Ten years later Lucas walks back into Eva’s life proposing a business deal. I loved Lucas & Eva! Eva is a strong, young woman now, trying to make a name for herself without her family’s help. She’s determined to stand on her own two feet and prove her worth. She was devastated when Lucas walked away ten years ago and is scared of falling for him again. As for Lucas, Rachael Stewart creates the most delectable heroes! YUM! Lucas is a hot, sexy, successful, businessman. He says he’s only after a business deal with Eva, but it’s obvious that after ten years apart the chemistry and the attraction is still there, hotter than ever. Such a fabulous couple who really deserved a HEA! I longed to see these two get over the past and be able to find a way back to each other. You could feel the devastation of their separation between them and the love that is still there under the surface. Rachael Stewart definitely pulled at my heartstrings with this couple! Their story was extremely well-written, perfectly paced and of course hot and steamy. With a perfect ending set at Christmas time, Naughty or Nice has everything I want and expect from Rachael Stewart and the Dare line!
