Introducing Birmingham Detective Sergeant Kate Power, exiled from London's Metropolitan Police by personal tragedy and making a new start in the distant outpost of Birmingham CID. Judith Cutler was born and raised in the city she writes about, Birmingham. She is a past secretary of the British Crime Writers' Association and taught for many years at Birmingham University. She lives in Kent, England.
