What can I tell you?
They say ‘write what you know,’ and most days, I feel like I’m being held hostage by the original NSP - nasty small poodle.
My real-life Rocco is 15 pounds of non-stop energy and vengeful behavior. He’s the inspiration for the character of the same name in my books. Roc is actually trying to claim a writing credit, since so many of his shenanigans have ended up on the page.
I believe I hear him now. If he could really talk, he’d be saying, "Great Merciful Poodles, can’t you write faster? It’s time for my hourly game of Fetch.”
So far, I’ve left out my husband, and our little house in the woods. But who knows? Maybe in a future series…
I love writing every day, and the result so far is three mystery series, and counting. Murder In Season features injured Detective Constable Claire Beckett. That trilogy is followed by the Poodle Versus… series. Starring - guess who?
