After a tragic accident, James quits his job at a law firm and sells his house. Unable to deal with constant reminders, he also severs ties with his family. On the run from a dangerous ex-boyfriend, Charlie is the new waitress at the same diner where James works. Despite an overwhelming sense of guilt, James ends up falling for Charlie.
