But blew it out of the water by the end. I've only recently discovered Watts, but he is quickly becoming my favorite. I first read Blindsight, and it's follow up Echopraxia, and those were amazing. If you've read either of those then you'll find that this book reads much easier, but has the same feel, except not in space. Off to read the next book in this series! Thanks Peter Watts for writing us these worlds in which we can spend our time alone, in our twisted minds.

Constant movement of perspective in this novel is executed in such an engaging manner it becomes almost impossible to put down. Every point of view slips in and out as the story is woven together. You know what's going to happen next you just don't want it to, so you can't stop reading. There are no twists or surprises to this story, just raw unbridled humanity and if you can't connect to every character in this story you should reconsider your own humanity. Peter Watts is truly master of prose.

Super interesting premise, interesting characters and situations, thought-provoking, plausible, and scary. Takes a little while to get up to speed but it's well worth the effort, I promise you.
