Kassen and Gemma, granted being practically the only characters in this book, and had a lot of push and pull between each other. I think Gemma's background as a YouTube adventurer superstar was unique. I only hope other characters will start popping up especially when trying to figure out Kassen's cave and his background. Kassen is currently an enigma. With that cliffhanger though, I WILL be back for the next one! I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Pepper Winters is amazing when it comes to dark/captive romance with broken antiheroes and the strong heroines that show them love. It's no surprise I loved Kassen. Little of his background is given, as well as glimpses of his ugly and painful past. Gem was kind when Kas was cruel. I didn't quite understand why she was, but kind of made me like her. Talk about a cliffhanger. The Fable house and its inhabitants are quite a mystery and intriguing. Looking forward to knowing more about this world. 4.5 stars

What a ride! This will definitely take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. Go in blind a prepare to FEEL! The ending will have you begging for more! Another fantastic beginning to a new dark series by Pepper Winters.
