Das vorliegende essential diskutiert in kurzer, prägnanter Form die Schizophrenie vor dem Hintergrund ihrer entwicklungsneurobiologischen Pathologie. Dabei werden in erster Linie aktuelle neuropsychologische Befunde zu kognitiven Funktionsstörungen im Rahmen der Schizophrenie sowie gängige neuropsychologische Modelle zur Erklärung der komplexen und heterogenen Psychopathologie behandelt.
