Patricia's fictional mystery series has won several awards. The series features a prim, poor but clever Black female theologian who solves murder and crime in Colorado's dangerous Klan era. In 2021, Patricia was inducted into the Colorado Authors' Hall of Fame.
Patricia makes her home with her husband Dan in Colorado where she grew up. They're active members of the historic Shorter Community A.M.E. Church in Denver, where Patricia founded the Shorter Writing Ministry, "Power of the Pen." She seeks to live in the spirit of one of her favorite scriptures: "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth." (Romans 1:16)
