Jim Nash decides he wants to claim the tiny puppy as his own. Maddie Spence knows better, and is already planning the found dog poster she will produce when she gets the lost little dog home.
Both plans go awry when the owner of the puppy appears on their doorstep intent on claiming her dog for herself.
When Maddie heads out on an assignment that will take her away from Friday and Jim for an unknown amount of time, dog and man are forced to admit they desperately miss their partner. To counter his loneliness, Jim is drawn into a relationship that will prove difficult to break off when Maddie returns.
