Plato was a student of Socrates and later the teacher of Aristotle, forming a foundation of what would come to be known as the triumvirate of ancient Greek philosophy. His works have been influential in the development of Western philosophy, religion, and spirituality. The dialogue 'Parmenides' is one of his metaphysical pieces and part of his middle period works.
