Annie Graceland: Cheesehead. Unwed. Hi-LAR-ious baker who speaks to 'The Dead!'
__
I’m interviewing with nice-guy, Venice Beach tech millionaire Mason Callaway to cater the desserts at his birthday bash. His name can open doors and I really want this gig.
So, I go for it. I pop on Instagram and research his foodie posts. I spend hours concocting confections for him to taste. I’m waiting at a microbrewery to meet up with him when a Boho-styled brunette clutching a beer trips on her six-inch platforms.
She hurtles through the air and douses me in pale ale, before catching herself on top of the pastry box. My samples are smashed. Chocolate is everywhere.
“Oopsi-daisy,” she says. “I’m Maisey.”
Maisey is Mason’s ex-GF who’s been semi-stalking him. He filed a temporary restraining order. She doesn't care. I still get the birthday bash catering gig.
What could possibly go wrong?
