About this ebook

Can a city boy and a country girl find a way to be together?

Harrison Baxter and Edwina Campbell lead completely different lives.

Much has changed for Harry since he escaped his home town of Yallambah ten years ago, headed for the bright lights of the big city. Now he's the star of Melbourne's hottest musical, and feels more at home centre stage than anywhere else. Why bother going back to Yallambah to visit his parents when his father couldn't care less about his success?

Meanwhile, nothing much has changed for Edwina in the last decade, which is exactly how she likes it. Eddie adores her career as a nurse and loves the Yallambah community - she can't imagine living anywhere else. And even if she wanted to, she could never leave her beloved grandparents, who raised her like their own daughter. She's not going to abandon them in their old age. Not for anything.

So when Harry and Eddie bump into each other on one of Harry's flying visits home, their instant mutual attraction seems as pointless as it is intense. There's no way they could ever make it work.

Or is there?

This is the third or fourth book by Nicki Edwards I've read. I really enjoyed it. It was a sweet story about giving love a second chance. It was well written and I found myself caring about the characters, so much so, I read it in one sitting! It was the perfect book to read on the last day of school holidays, while the kids were enjoying their last day of freedom! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The story had some twists and turns that I didn't see coming which made it an amazing story. Beautifully written. I enjoyed the journey and cannot wait for her next book

About the author

Nicki Edwards is a city girl with a country heart. Growing up on a small family acreage, she spent her formative years riding horses and pretending the neighbour's farm was her own. When Nicki isn't reading, writing or dreaming about rural life and medical emergencies, she can be found working as a Critical Care Nurse in the Emergency Department or Intensive Care Unit, where many of her stories and characters are imagined. Nicki and her husband Tim live in Geelong, Victoria. With four teenage/young adult children, life is busy, fun and at times exhausting, but Nicki wouldn't change it for anything.
