Jones and Maggie find each other when Maggie's journalistic determination finds her at the mercy of the cartel. They have a rocky path muddling through mutual trust issues as secrets and crazy shockers are revealed during their subsequent investigations, but they eventually find their way to love. Fast-paced and suspenseful, this story keeps you engaged. And Gotham...the doggie star of this book, he was adorable and had me laughing.

Fine, but I get to pet the dog. Each time I don’t think this author can top herself, she does. Maggie and Jones (And Gotham) may be my favorite couple yet! No matter how many times Maggie gets knocked down, and that’s many, she always gets back up, usually feistier than before. And Jones...just the perfect guy for her as Socorro finally puts an end to Sangre por Sangre. Well done!

I volunteered to read and review an advanced readers copy of K-9 Shield . This is the third story in the New Mexico Guard Dogs series . I really enjoyed reading this story . Journalist Maggie Caddel was abducted by Sosimo Toledano heir to the cartel Sangre Por Sangre when she witnessed the cartel killing ten American soldiers . Jones Driscoll works for Socorro Security as Combat Controller rescues Maggie before they can kill her . Jones works to keep Maggie safe from the Cartel but it's hard Maggie doesn't make it easy . As their attraction heats up so does the danger . This story is action packed, intense and intriguing so Suspenseful . I highly recommend taking the time to read .
