British Text:

More about the translation:
This revised and updated edition of the NIV includes three main types of change, taking into account changes in the way we use language day to day; advances in biblical scholarship and understanding; and the need to ensure that gender accurate language is used, to faithfully reflect whether men and women are referred to in each instance. The translators have carefully assessed a huge body of scholarship, as well as inviting peer submissions, in order to review every word of the existing NIV to ensure it remains as clear and relevant today as when it was first published.

Royalties from all sales of the NIV Bible help Biblica, formerly the International Bible Society, in their work of translating and distributing Bibles around the world.

This is a version of the Bible and not a translation, Having 11 hardcover English translations I found this New International Version to be very swayed by the professed 'Christian' churches that formulated it. Although it is easy to read and does give very good versions of the scriptures, many verses are 'angled' in the direction of the 'Pagan' themed Churches and their beliefs rather than an actual translation of the Original Scriptures. This is not a 'Holy Bible'. Gods name is nowhere to be found in this 'version', not even in the concordance. His name or accurate rendering of it in any form, other than titles, has been completely erased. 1 star for effort.

This is a really poor implementation of the Bible. Have been wrestling with it for a few months now, and unless you're simply wanting to read straight through books & chapters, it's very difficult to make good use of. There's no facility for searching either by chapter & verse, theme, or keyword. It frequently gets itself scrambled when moving from one section to another, and regularly shows blank pages. If I could get a refund, I would.

It would be quicker and cheaper to use a free bible over the internet since this one does not seem to download to your phone but simply downloads each book as you try and access it. This is slow and runs the risk of data charges.
