A Special Christmas . . . Sigge Berggren’s new neighbor, Kristian Holmberg, is a young man in his 20’s whom Sigge has enjoyed watching as he dashes out to his car each morning at lightning speed. Today, Christmas Eve, he is wearing his usual well-fitting suit which gives him a proper stylish look, but he topped it off with a fluffy Santa hat that shows he doesn’t take himself too seriously. Until he says “Please?”, Sigge realized he had been zoned-out watching him. So he invited Kristian inside to explain the emergency. Apparently having Christmas at his house by order of his sister, Kristian forgot to get a Santa for the kids. It will ruin their Christmas if Santa doesn’t appear to hand out gifts. So he wants Sigge to be Santa for him. Sigge has no fond memories of Christmas with his own toxic family, but he knows how Santa acts. But Sigge is an introvert, not experienced with kids, and awkward around people. He wants to say no. But he doesn’t want to disappoint anyone. Kristian helps him get the Santa suit on and when he arrives next door, everything goes perfectly. One of the kids even helps him hand out gifts. And Kristian promised to come over later with food they could share. Both of them are feeling something special. There is a connection that runs deep and being together feels so easy. Is the magic of Christmas surrounding them? How long will these feelings keep getting stronger? It feels like their Christmas gift to each other won’t need paper wrapping since it comes from the heart. Is it wrong to want forever? This is a wonderful story that moves the reader easily through a delightful realization of how love can make things right. Sigge was able to push past the discomfort from his own past and give joy to the kids. He and Kristian were perfect together. You won’t want to miss their story!

Santa saves the day. The Santa Emergency is another great short read by Nell Iris. For me, she remains the queen of short MM romance stories. For a little bit while reading this I thought Nell had managed to write a story that didn’t bring any tears to my eyes. I should have known better. 😊 Because this is a pretty short book the story takes off right away with Sigge’s new neighbor begging him for help on Christmas Eve. Kristian is indebted to Sigge for his help and brings him leftovers from the meal he had with his family. This is the real beginning of their relationship even though Sigge doesn’t do relationships. It wasn’t until the epilogue, set two years later, that Nell managed to make my eyes leak. The way Sigge gently explained about Santa to Kristian’s nephew was so sweet; it really touched my heart. As long as Nell keeps writing such wonderful stories, I’ll be here to cheer her on. An advanced copy of this book was provided to me at my request but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author. ***Reviewed for Xtreme-Delusions dot com***
